Balancing Transitions and Traditions – Holidays as a Kinship Caregiver provides helpful insights and perspectives on supporting kinship caregivers and their children who are separated from their birth families during the holiday season. Navigating family dynamics can be challenging, especially during this time of year. Kinship children require compassion and understanding as they navigate their emotions and adjust to transitions amidst holiday celebrations. Let’s discover thoughtful and purposeful ways to celebrate with our Kinship families.
About the Trainer:
Dr. Marlene Huff, LCSW, PhD is an individual counselor with Creative Solutions of the Bluegrass, LLC, in Lexington, KY. Dr. Huff specializes in Mental Health, Addiction (Substance Use Disorder), Relationship issues, and is a Marriage & Family Therapist. Dr. Huff has 16 years experience in the field treating conditions such as stress, depressive disorders, mood disorders, ADHD, anger management, domestic violence, and parenting issues.
Dr. Huff attended the University of Kentucky, studying psychology as an undergraduate, and achieving her Master’s Degree and PhD in Social Work and Medical Sociology from the University of Kentucky in 1999.
