Promoting Social and Emotional Health across Development
with Dr. Alissa Briggs, PhD
The presentation will describe social and emotional developmental challenges and needs by age group, with a focus on children who have experienced trauma and who have neurodevelopmental disabilities. Strategies and resource for addressing the unique social and emotional needs of children in medically complex foster homes will be provided.
Alissa Briggs, PhD, is an associate professor and licensed psychologist in the division of pediatric forensic medicine at Golisano Children’s at UK. She is the principal investigator for the UK Golisano Children’s CARE Team suicide prevention program and the liaison for UK Golisano Children’s School Behavioral Health programs.
