Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this conference, participants will be able to:
- Describe how attachment styles influence leadership effectiveness, emotional regulation, and team relationships in healthcare and social service settings.
- Apply attachment-informed and social work leadership frameworks to promote psychological safety and relational attunement.
- Evaluate research on the relationship between attachment styles, leadership outcomes, and workforce well-being.
- Use an attachment-informed leadership assessment tool to strengthen trauma-informed leadership practice across interdisciplinary teams.
Presenter Bio
Janell Skeete, MSW, LICSW, LCSW, is a doctoral candidate in Social Work Leadership and a licensed clinical social worker with extensive experience in healthcare, behavioral health, and trauma‑informed systems. She earned her Bachelor of Social Work from Tuskegee University and her Master of Social Work from Tulane University, with a specialization in clinical mental health practice.
Mrs. Skeete currently provides behavioral health treatment and has held both clinical and administrative roles within healthcare organizations and the federal government, including the Department of Defense. In this capacity, she supports active‑duty service members coping with posttraumatic stress, combat‑related mental health concerns, and occupational stress.
She is the founder and executive director of an employee wellness and organizational consulting practice that partners with healthcare and human service agencies to advance trauma‑informed leadership, workforce wellness, and relational supervision. Her professional expertise spans trauma‑informed supervision, program development, strategic planning, and staff well‑being. Her leadership approach emphasizes equity, emotional intelligence, psychological safety, and reflective practice.
Mrs. Skeete’s research interests center on attachment‑informed leadership, emotional regulation, and relational dynamics in social work and healthcare leadership. Her capstone project examines how leaders’ attachment orientations influence burnout, leadership behavior, and team functioning within high‑pressure systems. Grounded in social work values, the project highlights reflective practice and emotionally intelligent leadership as pathways to sustainability, psychological safety, and human‑centered organizational cultures.

Target Audience: This conference is intended for social workers and students.
Accreditation: University of Kentucky College of Social Work, Provider # 1377, is approved as an ACE provider to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. ACE provider approval period: 9/29/25-9/29/28. Social workers participating in this conference will receive up to 15 general continuing education credits.
