Presenter Bio
Taylor Stanton, LMSW, CAADC, is a Doctoral Candidate in the Doctor of Social Work (DSW) program at the University of Kentucky. She earned both her Master of Social Work (MSW) and Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degrees from Grand Valley State University. Dr. Stanton currently works as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and mental health therapist with Thriveworks. Her research interests focus on the intersection of eating disorders, sport, societal standards, childhood experiences, and prevention, with particular attention to how attachment styles influence psychosocial development from childhood through adolescence. Building on this foundation, her work specifically examines athletes and incorporates neuroarts-based interventions. Her DSW capstone project, Female Youth Athletes: Preventing Eating Disorders with Neuroarts Interventions, explores how a summer program can foster a healthy, sustainable relationship among young athletes, their bodies, food, and athletics.
