Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this conference, participants will be able to:
1. Understand the current methods of teaching master level social workers.
2. Understand the rationale for prioritizing and utilizing CBT over other therapy modalities.
3. Understand the role that technology plays and how it can be expanded upon for clinical social workers.
Presenter Bio
Joseph is a doctoral candidate in the School of Social Work at the University of Kentucky. He holds two undergraduate degrees: one in business administration from Baker University and another in the science of psychology from Fort Hays State University. He
completed his Master of Social Work degree at Wichita State University and graduated with either summa cum laude or magna cum laude honors in all completed degree programs.
He is currently a private practitioner at Ascending Perspectives Therapy LLC, where he engages in clinical social work with adult populations and specializes in the treatment of trauma and personality disorders. Joseph has dedicated much of his ongoing scholarly work to understanding the impacts of trauma on individual functioning, as examining various treatment modalities for traumatized adults. His current capstone project focuses on advancing the clinical skills utilized by clinical social workers through a cognitive behavioral framework, utilizing virtual reality and artificial intelligence driven tools with virtual clients.

Target Audience: This conference is intended for social workers and students.
Accreditation: University of Kentucky College of Social Work, Provider # 1377, is approved as an ACE provider to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. ACE provider approval period: 9/29/25-9/29/28. Social workers participating in this conference will receive up to 15 general continuing education credits.
Claiming CE Credit: Instructions for claiming CE credit will be disseminated at the beginning of each session.
