Incorporating Supervision in Suicide Prevention Methods
This presentation will discuss how the supervision of clinical providers treating suicidal or high-risk clients can impact suicide prevention efforts. This presentation will cover specific clinical and administrative recommendations for leaders in these roles. This presentation will also present the conceptualization of these supervision methods and encourage incorporating such methods as a standard in suicide prevention supervision roles.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this conference, participants will be able to:
- Understand the impact of the leader on the clinical provider and the high-risk or suicidal clients that they treat.
- Learn specific clinical and administrative recommendations for supervisors of providers treating high risk for suicide clients.
- Understand the importance of conceptualized supervision methods in settings with high risk for suicide clients.

Target Audience: This conference is intended for social workers and students.
Accreditation: University of Kentucky College of Social Work, Provider # 1377, is approved as an ACE provider to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. ACE provider approval period: 9/29/22-9/29/25. Social workers participating in this conference will receive up to 15 general continuing education credits.
