Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this conference, participants will be able to:

  1. Critically examine burnout as a system-level issue rather than individual failure.
  2. Describe key organizational and leadership factors that contribute to burnout and compassion satisfaction
  3. Apply principles of Resilience-Informed System Leadership to redesign supervision, policy, and organizational practices that support workforce well-being.
  4. Identify leadership strategies that align burnout prevention with ethical mandates, organizational accountability, and sustainable workforce outcomes.

 

Presenter Bio

Denice Green, MSW, DSW Candidate, is a senior executive leader within the Department of Veterans Affairs, currently serving as the Deputy Chief of Social Work Service. With more than 2 decades of professional experience, her career spans the continuum of direct clinical practice, program management, and executive management within large complex healthcare systems.

Ms. Green holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from South Carolina State University and a Master of Social Work from the University of Cincinnati. She is currently a Doctoral Candidate in the Doctor of Social Work program at the University of Kentucky, with an anticipated graduation in May 2026.

Her research interests center on workforce well-being, ethical leadership, and organizational accountability. Her Capstone Project examines the utilization of the Resilience-Informed Systems Leadership (RISL) framework to mitigate burnout among social workers, emphasizing leadership responsibility, organizational culture, and structural support that promote sustainable professional well-being.

In addition to her executive role, Ms. Green has been recognized for leadership excellence and serves as a mentor to emerging leaders across the VA system. Through scholarship and practice, Ms. Green remains dedicated to strengthening social work leadership and advancing sustainable, equity-centered social work practice within large healthcare systems.

 

Delivery Method: Live Interactive Training via Zoom Video Conferencing

Credit Hours: 1.0 (ACE)

Target Audience: This conference is intended for social workers and students.

Accreditation: University of Kentucky College of Social Work, Provider # 1377, is approved as an ACE provider to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. ACE provider approval period: 9/29/25-9/29/28. Social workers participating in this conference will receive up to 15 general continuing education credits.

Claiming CE Credit: Instructions for claiming CE credit will be disseminated at the beginning of each session.
