Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this conference, participants will be able to:
- Describe research findings related to the impact of digital media use on family attachment during the parenting adolescent stage of the family cycle.
- Explain how ecological systems theory and attachment theory inform understanding of digital media within family dynamics.
- Identify gaps in clinical assessment and practice approaches related to the use of digital media in outpatient clinical settings.
- Apply components of the Digital and Ecological Attachment Model (DEAM) to enhance biopsychosocial assessment and clinical intervention with adolescents and families.
Presenter Bio:
Crystal L. Glover is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Doctoral Candidate in the Doctor of Social Work program at the University of Kentucky. Ms. Glover obtained her Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and Master of Social Work (MSW) degrees from Western Kentucky University. After obtaining her MSW, Ms. Glover pursued licensure as a Certified Social Worker (CSW) and later as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
Ms. Glover has more than ten years of professional experience providing trauma-informed individual and family therapy across foster care and outpatient mental health settings. She currently provides clinical services with Anchored by Hope, where her work emphasizes client-centered, strength-based, systems-oriented, and culturally responsive care. In addition to clinical work, Ms. Glover has supported colleagues by providing clinical supervision as they pursue independent licensure.
For her doctoral capstone research, Ms. Glover explores the impact of digital media use on attachment during the adolescent stage of the family cycle. Her scholarly interests include family systems, attachment theory, adolescent development, trauma-informed practice, and the ethical integration of technology into social work assessment and intervention.

Accreditation: University of Kentucky College of Social Work, Provider # 1377, is approved as an ACE provider to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. ACE provider approval period: 9/29/25-9/29/28. Social workers participating in this conference will receive up to 15 general continuing education credits.
