Presenter Bio
Christopher Bowen, LCADC, ICADC, CCS, LSW, is a seasoned leader with over 20 years of experience in mental health and addiction services. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Keuka College and a Master’s in Clinical Social Work from New York University. Currently a Doctoral Candidate in the Doctor of Social Work program at the University of Kentucky College of Social Work, Christopher’s research focuses on Trauma-Informed Leadership (TIL) as a paradigm shift to enhance organizational resilience, employee well-being, and service delivery. His capstone project, Enhancing Organizational Effectiveness Through Trauma-Informed Leadership, reflects his commitment to fostering transformative change.
As Vice President of Addiction Services and Operations for a New Jersey community healthcare agency, Christopher has spearheaded innovative programs addressing addiction, mental health, and co-occurring disorders. His leadership spans diverse settings, including hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and outpatient programs, equipping him with a comprehensive understanding of systemic challenges.
Christopher is the CEO and Founder of Impact Counseling and Training Services LLC, where he integrates evidence-based practices with holistic, strengths-based approaches. A New Jersey Board-approved trainer and consultant for the New Jersey Prevention Network, he mentors future addiction counselors and advances recovery-oriented practices as a trainer for the National Council for Mental Wellbeing under SAMHSA’s SPARK initiative. An advocate for social justice, Christopher has led initiatives like the “Helping Hearts Mission” and serves on the Montclair State University Counseling Advisory Board. Christopher is also a minister and a dedicated social justice advocate. His work continues to inspire systemic change, mentor emerging professionals, and promote equitable, sustainable systems of care.

Accreditation: University of Kentucky College of Social Work, Provider # 1377, is approved as an ACE provider to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. ACE provider approval period: 9/29/25-9/29/28. Social workers participating in this conference will receive up to 15 general continuing education credits.
