Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this conference, participants will be able to:
- 1. Understand the challenges health and human graduate-level students face in academia, with an emphasis on social work.
- Identify strategies that have already been used in health and human services programs to help students with challenges.
- Gain knowledge of the research and literature that supports those strategies.
Presenter Bio
Serretta-Brooke Bradley is a native of Lexington, Kentucky. Serretta is currently a DSW Candidate in the Doctor of Social Work Program at the University of Kentucky College of Social Work. Further, she is a Clinical Associate Professor at Indiana University School of Social Work. Serretta is a proud graduate of the HBCU, Kentucky State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Social Work with completion of the Kentucky Public Child Welfare Certification Program. After completing her undergraduate degree, she obtained a Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Louisville Kent School. She has worked with the Kentucky Public Child Welfare system, provided services to patients at Eastern State Psychiatric Hospital in Kentucky, and facilitated family connections with foster care’s loneliest kids through the Family Finding Project Match KY Initiatives. Serretta traveled with the March of Remembrance Voyage to Poland for Holocaust Studies. Serretta has been part of research initiatives addressing issues around Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Serretta is currently working on her capstone project, Strategies for Student Success in Graduate Health and Human Service Programs, with an Emphasis on Social Work. She looks forward to enhancing student learning in academic settings while advocating for student supports. As a lover of the butterfly effect, she loves a quote from the late Maya Angelou: “We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.”

Target Audience: This conference is intended for social workers and students.
Accreditation: University of Kentucky College of Social Work, Provider # 1377, is approved as an ACE provider to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. ACE provider approval period: 9/29/25-9/29/28. Social workers participating in this conference will receive up to 15 general continuing education credits.
