- Recognize how systems-level and population health frameworks inform the design and implementation of integrated behavioral health.
- Identify key organizational and leadership strategies that support effective and sustainable integration of behavioral health services in primary care.
Presenter Bio
Susan Lynne Boyles, LCSW, is a Doctor of Social Work (DSW) candidate at the University of Kentucky College of Social Work and currently serves as the Chief Behavioral Health Officer at Adelante Healthcare, a Federally Qualified Health Center serving diverse and underserved communities. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Social Work from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, as well as a Certificate in Executive Leadership and Management from the Medoza School of Business at the University of Notre Dame.
Ms. Boyles is a seasoned behavioral health leader with extensive experience designing, implementing, and sustaining integrated behavioral health services within primary care settings. Her professional work is grounded in population health, health equity, and systems-level approaches to care delivery. Her scholarly interests align closely with her practice and focus on integrated behavioral health models, chronic disease management, and whole-person, team-based care in safety-net systems. In recognition of her leadership and contributions to the field, Ms. Boyles received the National Excellence in Behavioral Health Leadership Award from the Association of Clinicians for the Underserved in August 2024.
Her capstone project examines the impact of integrated behavioral health interventions on clinical outcomes, specifically A1C levels among adults with Type 2 diabetes in underserved populations. Through this work, she seeks to strengthen the evidence base for integrated care and inform sustainable implementation strategies within Federally Qualified Health Centers.

Accreditation: University of Kentucky College of Social Work, Provider # 1377, is approved as an ACE provider to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. ACE provider approval period: 9/29/25-9/29/28. Social workers participating in this conference will receive up to 15 general continuing education credits.
