Presenter Bio
Jean Filsaime Pierre earned his Associate’s degree in Applied Science in Business Administration and Management from the Borough of Manhattan Community College in New York, NY, his Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Kean University in Union, NJ, and his Master’s degree in Social Work from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. Subsequently, Pierre earned a Specialist degree in Education from Berry College in Mount Berry, GA. Currently, Pierre is a Doctor of Social Work candidate with a concentration in Administrative Leadership at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY. He is a school social worker with over twenty years of experience and formerly worked as a counselor, family therapist, and assistant principal. Presently, he volunteers and is an elected board member of a nonprofit organization supporting hunger within the school system, which is his research topic of interest. His Capstone Project is centered on hunger within the school system and its impact on students and families. His awards and distinctions include “Partner of the Year” as a school social worker within the community for his work with a nonprofit organization. His “outstanding service, dedication, and leadership” earned him the “Champion for Kids” award as a former assistant principal for the elementary school that he served. Pierre is excited to utilize the administrative leadership skills he has gathered from the DSW program and apply them to support his future nonprofit organization, with the mission to decrease hunger within the school system.

Credit Hours: 1.0 (ACE)
Target Audience: This conference is intended for social workers and students.
Accreditation: University of Kentucky College of Social Work, Provider # 1377, is approved as an ACE provider to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. ACE provider approval period: 9/29/25-9/29/28. Social workers participating in this conference will receive up to 15 general continuing education credits.
Claiming CE Credit: Instructions for claiming CE credit will be disseminated at the beginning of each session.
