Presenter Bio:
Olivia Myers is a Director of Programming at The Children’s Home Society of West Virginia, where she provides leadership and oversight for various child welfare programs across the state. She earned both her Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work degrees from Marshall University and is currently a Doctor of Social Work candidate at the University of Kentucky. With 9 years of professional experience spanning direct care, social work practice, and supervision, Myers’ work is grounded in a deep commitment to strengthening the child welfare workforce.
Her professional and scholarly interests center on supervision, professional development, and the retention of paraprofessional staff in youth residential settings. In particular, she is interested in identifying supervision practices that support staff well-being, reduce burnout, and create sustainable career pathways for paraprofessionals who serve children and adolescents with complex needs. Through her leadership and doctoral studies, Myers seeks to bridge research and practice by developing practical supervision frameworks that enhance organizational culture and improve outcomes for both staff and youth.
