Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this conference, participants will be able to:
1. Explain how relational competence functions within supportive supervision to shape leadership development in social work practice.
2. Analyze the role of supportive supervision in strengthening administrative supervision as a developmental, leadership-oriented practice.
3. Identify supervisory practices that apply relational competence to foster leadership skills in post-licensure, administrative supervision contexts.
Presenter Bio:
Natosha LaCour, MSW, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Doctoral Candidate in Social Work at the University of Kentucky, with an anticipated graduation in May 2026. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and a Master of Social Work from Louisiana State University. Ms. LaCour currently serves as Deputy Chief of Social Work Service at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, Texas.
Ms. LaCour has nearly two decades of experience within the Department of Veterans Affairs, where she has progressed through various leadership roles, including team lead, supervisor, senior supervisor, program manager, and deputy chief of social work. She is a Board-Approved Supervisor, a graduate of the VA Leadership Development Institute (2010), and was nominated for Excellence in Social Work Leadership in 2023. In addition, she serves as an Emerging VA Leaders (EVAL) mentor, supporting leadership development and succession planning among early-career and aspiring leaders within the VA system.
Her research interests include social work supervision, organizational wellness, and leadership development in healthcare and human service organizations. Ms. LaCour’s doctoral capstone project explores how relationally grounded supervisory practices contribute to leadership development and organizational wellness among professional social work supervisors. Ms. LaCour is dedicated to advancing the field of social work through innovative research, effective leadership, and a commitment to professional development.

Target Audience: This conference is intended for social workers and students.
Accreditation: University of Kentucky College of Social Work, Provider # 1377, is approved as an ACE provider to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. ACE provider approval period: 9/29/25-9/29/28. Social workers participating in this conference will receive up to 15 general continuing education credits.
