Exploring the Use of Virtual Reality Simulation in Child Welfare Training and Education

This presentation focuses on the potential of virtual reality (VR) simulation in child welfare training and education. The presenter will explore the concept of VR simulation and its application across various industries, highlighting its unique capacity to immerse participants in emotionally charged or complex scenarios. The presentation will also make a compelling case for integrating VR into child welfare training programs, emphasizing its ability to enhance learning outcomes and prepare professionals for real-world challenges. Finally, challenges and future directions for research and development in this field will be identified, underscoring the importance of continued innovation to meet the evolving needs of child welfare professionals.

Target Audience: This conference is intended for social workers and students.


Accreditation: University of Kentucky College of Social Work, Provider # 1377, is approved as an ACE provider to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. ACE provider approval period: 9/29/22-9/29/25. Social workers participating in this conference will receive up to 15 general continuing education credits.
