ʹʹOut in the Openʹʹ Conference: LGBTQIA Issues for Behavioral Health and Other Helping Professionals- 3.31.17

The University of Kentucky College of Social Work in collaboration with the University of Kentucky LGBTQ* Resource Office will be holding the 2nd annual ''Out in the Open'' Conference: LGBTQIA Issues for Behavioral Health and Other Helping Professionals on March 31, 2017. This innovative conference will provide a variety of workshops designed to provide additional knowledge and awareness to behavioral health and other helping professionals. We will incorporate a panel discuss to serve as a platform for bringing together diverse voices within the LGBTQ communities and allies. Through this line-up of master presenters, panelists and much more, the goal of this conference is to encourage open conversations and open minds through gained knowledge of LGBTQIA topics.

Geared for professionals at the basic, intermediate, advanced and clinical levels, this conference will offer topics including: LGBTQ 101, Transgender Experiences, Talking to Youth about LGBTQ Issues , LGBTQ Healthcare Considerations, Gender Variance, Intersectional Identities, and Cultural Competency.

    Live Course Information

    All participants will receive their certificates of completion 7-10 business days after the conclusion of the conference in order for verification of attendance of all sessions. In order to receive your certificate of completion, each participant must sign in and out of each session and turn in a completed evaluation form for each session. Participants must attend the entirety of each live session and complete the workshop evaluation form to obtain full credit.
