Description

While the holidays can be a wonderful time of joy, family, and togetherness that many families look forward to, it can also be a very difficult season for many children who are living outside of their natural home-even those that reside in Kinship care.  For these children, the holidays may hold fond memories of previous family traditions they enjoyed with their natural parents and siblings, or, it could just be a reminder that their family is separated.

Likewise, for Kinship caregivers, as with most parents, the holiday season can be stressful; however, not knowing how to help your Kinship child adjust to your family traditions and celebrations can add to that stress.  Kinship children need support and understanding as they cope with emotions such as grief and sadness, in the midst of family celebrations.  Join us on November 8, from 6:30 pm – 8 pm, as we learn how we can prepare and care for our kinship children through the holiday season, providing them with the support they need while enjoying our family celebrations.
