Caring for a child with a learning disability can be challenging at times. Learning how to connect and work with your child to learn important concepts necessary for their growth and development is essential for any caregiver. However, for caregivers caring for children with a learning disability, helping your child succeed requires developing an understanding of your child’s cognitive abilities and helping them develop tools to be successful, in addition to being an educational advocate for your child.  In this LIVE webinar, Kyra Minichan, a Speech Pathologist, and founder of the Cognitive Emporium in Tennessee, will help us understand how children develop neurologically and strategies that can close the gap between a child’s intelligence and the struggles they face at home, school, and the community.  Through positive interventions, many children with learning disabilities such as Dyslexia, ADHD, Cognitive Development, attention concerns, and cognitive processes can be improved!

 

About the Trainer:

Kyra Minichan, M.A., CCC-SLP, is a Speech-Language Pathologist specializing in cognitive-linguistic intervention and closing the gap between intelligence and academic struggle. Kyra provides diagnostic and treatment plans specific to each individual, along with 1:1 coaching services. Kyra Minichan, M.A., CCC-SLP, is a speech-language pathologist specializing in cognitive-linguistic intervention. She holds a Masters in Communication Disorders from the University of Tennessee and a Masters in Specific Learning Disabilities from West Virginia University. She began her career 30 years ago in a rehabilitation facility and later worked as The Director of Pediatrics at a Level 1 Trauma Hospital.

Over her experiences, Kyra has gained knowledge and practical experience in pediatric neurological development. Kyra connects the dots between medical and educational components for clients.
