Description

An Application of Meta-Practice: Introduction at the Bachelor Level

The presentation will introduce meta-practice at the bachelor level to expand the generalist model interconnectedness of the three pillars of social work. I will discuss the rationale for starting the understanding of meta-practice to improve the preparedness of the youngest professionals from the conceptual design. Today’s society is becoming more globalized and more connected. This also applies to the societal connectivity throughout one state and the need for the practitioner to have a better knowledge base from the systems level to the population and on to the individual. I will also discuss the gap in the literature that is discovered. I will discuss the designed curriculum as the intervention.

A discussion of the primary assessments of the intervention and the reasoning for using them as opposed to a pre- /post-test. A discussion of the importance of the introduction and the limited interaction students have with meta-practice. I will talk about the parallels between meta-practice and integrative or expanded practice. I will talk about the adaptability of the intervention to other geographical locations.

Learning Objectives:

  1. To gain more insight into meta-practice.
  2. The adaptability of intervention.
  3. The importance of this concept of meta-practice.
