Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this conference, participants will be able to:
- Increase cultural competence by understanding the impact of racism and oppression on burnout among Black social workers.
- Apply Critical Race Theory and Human Relations Theory of Management to evaluate social work practice and organizational systems to develop socially just, inclusive environments.
- Identify strategies that reduce burnout, enhance belonging, and strengthen organizational health through leadership training.
Presenter Bio:
Candida Wiltshire is an accomplished Licensed Clinical Social Worker who delivers comprehensive mental health treatment to individuals across South Carolina, New Jersey, and Rhode Island. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the distinguished HBCU, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, and a Master of Social Work from Monmouth University with a concentration in clinical work with children and families. Currently, she is a doctoral candidate at the University of Kentucky, where her research centers on preventing and reducing burnout among Black social workers from an organizational level. This research aims to understand the predictors of burnout among Black social workers and identify best practices at an administrative level to address this phenomenon.
Candida is the founder of Good Deeds Therapy Services, LLC, and the executive producer of “A Place of Their Own.” She demonstrates a strong commitment to advancing access and equity in mental healthcare. Her extensive background includes working in an array of settings, including supporting individuals who are unhoused, assisting individuals navigating substance use challenges, and providing intervention services to families and children. She has served on several nonprofit boards, including the Bergen County Mental Health Board, former Community Service Chair, and President of the Bergen County Mocha Moms, and Student Advisor to GLAAD student group at the Technical College of the Lowcountry. With over 20 years of professional experience, she is renowned for her advocacy for equal rights in mental health and her dedication to serving diverse populations.

Accreditation: University of Kentucky College of Social Work, Provider # 1377, is approved as an ACE provider to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. ACE provider approval period: 9/29/25-9/29/28. Social workers participating in this conference will receive up to 15 general continuing education credits.
