Angela Jamison, Adoptive Parent Trainer
Developmental Stages & Children’s Responses to Grief defines grief and explores how children process and express grief at different developmental stages. It offers insight into the unique experiences of grief and loss that children who have been separated from their biological family may experience. It also provides strategies to help children cope with emotional reactions to grief.
After completing this training, participants will be able to:
- Identify stages of grief and how it is expressed in children.
- Explain strategies that can be used to help children cope with emotional reactions to grief.
ASK-VIP trainings are expressly designed to meet the needs of foster and adoptive parents. Skilled trainers who have lived experiences with fostering and adoption provide these trainings in a virtual group setting. There is 1.5 hours of ongoing, elective foster parent training credit available for Kentucky’s foster parents.
